4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. vii, 339pp. 143 illustrations and coloured full-page map 'North Polar Regions'. Brown covers with gilt and black titles and gilt decorative picture of a man in Arctic canoe on front cover, gilt and black borders. Light occasional foxing and head and tail of spine a little worn and split. Otherwise a nice tight, clean copy. The book is undated but has a presentaion inscription from an E. Gordon Jnr to a Mr D. Murchison Glasgow 24th Dec. 1879. The author is also un-named in this edition but the first edition was 1876 and written by William Henry Davenport Adams. The enlarged edition was possibly not completed by him. 'With a narrative of the British Polar Expedition 1875-1876 and other recent voyages'. Well illustrated throughout. Book Condition: V.g..
